MTGOP thanks Secretary of State Corey Stapleton for outstanding career of service

HELENA, Mont. – As Christi Jacobsen takes over for Corey Stapleton, the Montana Republican Party is deeply grateful for Stapleton’s four years of service to Montana in the Secretary of State’s office.

Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement on Stapleton’s service to Montanans:

“We’re thankful for Corey Stapleton’s leadership and innovation during his 4 years as Montana’s Secretary of State.

Not only did he run high-integrity elections, but Stapleton completely modernized the business registry, defended Montana against numerous partisan lawsuits, and saved taxpayers millions of dollars by consolidating the Office of Secretary of State from four locations into one.

Combined with his previous eight years as a state Senate leader, Stapleton caps off a dozen years in the Montana statehouse, following an 11-year career in the United States Navy.

We wish Secretary Stapleton ‘fair winds and following seas’ and are grateful that he prepared Christi Jacobsen to carry on secure and fair elections, as she becomes Montana’s next Secretary of State.”
