After taking his oath of office, Governor Gianforte immediately began fulfilling his campaign promises by working to get the economy going again, help Montana realize its full potential, and safely reopen Montana for business.
Governor Gianforte’s first executive order established the Red Tape Relief Task Force. Led by Lieutenant Governor Kristen Juras, this task force, will identify excessive, outdated, and unnecessary regulations by conducting a top-to-bottom regulatory review of all state agencies.
Gianforte also unveiled the Roadmap to the Montana Comeback; a fiscally conservative, pro-jobs budget that will cut taxes, create more jobs by attracting new business to our state, and provide tax relief to 4,000 small businesses and low-income homeowners, including disabled veterans and seniors.
And today, in just his second week in office, Governor Gianforte followed through with a directive lifting burdensome and arbitrary hours of operation and capacity restrictions, encouraging businesses to follow industry best practices.
Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement in response:
“Governor Gianforte’s campaign promises continue to become a reality, as he works to implement Montana’s Comeback Plan and help the Last Best Place reach its full potential,” said Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt. “As Governor Gianforte continues laying the foundation for a brighter, more prosperous future, there’s no doubt that our best days are ahead under this administration and it is no wonder why Montanans overwhelmingly chose Greg to lead our great state last November.”
