HELENA, Mont. – Today, Montana Senator Jon Tester voted to advance the “Abortion On Demand Until Birth Act”, a piece bill that would have made abortion on-demand a federal law. This radical piece of legislation would have mandated one of the most extreme abortion regimes on the planet and allowed abortions up until the moment of birth. In response to Senator Tester’s vote, Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement:

“Senator Tester’s vote today confirms what Montanans have known for years; Senator Tester is not a moderate and he does not represent Montana values,” Chairman Kaltschmidt said. “The fact that Senator Tester is willing to please his party bosses by voting in support of the most radical anti-life legislation Congress has seen, rather than protecting future generations of Montanans shows he has left Montana’s best interest in the rearview mirror. Thankfully Senator Daines and Senate Republicans were able to stop this bill in its tracks today. All human life is valuable, no matter how small.”

Montana Senator Steve Daines voted against the bill which ultimately failed 48-46.
