ICYMI: Speaker Nancy Pelosi this week floated several potential scenarios following November’s elections, including one in which she would become acting president, but she needs Kathleen Williams to make it happen.
Speaking to press, Pelosi said House Democrats are prepared to decide the election in the U.S. House of Representatives should there not be an Electoral College victory.
In such a scenario, each state delegation would get one vote for president – which, with the current makeup of the House of Representatives, would give Republicans the advantage. For that reason, Nancy Pelosi has urged the Democrats to focus their efforts on flipping two states to their advantage – Alaska and Montana.
Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have a vested interested in seeing Kathleen Williams elected to Congress. Should the election go to the House of Representatives, they’d need her to elect Joe Biden, and they are working to make it happen.
