HELENA, Mont. – The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics released data for the month of September showing that Montana is ranked 46th in weekly wages.
In September, average weekly earnings in Montana were $841.10 per week, nearly 18% lower than the national average of $1,022.61 per week.
The Montana Republican Party released the following statement in response:
“Montana trails nearly every state in the nation in wages – a status quo that Montana’s Democratic leaders have accepted for nearly two decades,” said MTGOP spokesperson Brooke Stroyke. “On November 3rd, Montanans will resoundingly elect Greg Gianforte as governor because they, like Congressman Gianforte, know that Montanans deserve better.”
