HELENA, Mont. – MTGOP Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement in response to President Biden’s address before the Joint Session of Congress tonight:
“If there’s one thing that tonight’s speech made clear it’s that Joe Biden broke his promise to govern with bipartisanship, and instead, has caved to the extremists in his Party to govern as a socialist to appease the Radical Left.
It was gravely concerning to hear that on the heels of a global Pandemic the President plans to pursue an agenda with massive tax hikes, open borders, and job-killing Green New Deal policies that will saddle future generations with trillions in partisan debt – all of which the overwhelming majority of Montanans firmly rejected last November.
Within his first 100 days, President Joe Biden has already proposed over $6 Trillion in new spending and has yet to offer a serious solution to fixing the crisis at the Southern Border that he created. The President’s ‘legacy’ includes canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, attacking our 2nd Amendment rights via executive orders, using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions, and opening the door for Democrats to pack the Supreme Court. These so-called ‘accomplishments’ of the Biden Administration have done nothing but appease coastal elites while leave hardworking, rural Americans in the rearview mirror.
Montanans deserve better and are grateful to have leaders in Washington, D.C. like Senator Steve Daines and Congressman Matt Rosendale who stand up for the Last Best Place by pushing back against President Biden’s radical agenda.”
