Kathleen Williams likes to talk a big game on campaign finance reform. Not only does her record not back that up, but her idea of “serious” reform requires money out of your pocket.
Yep, that’s right – Extreme Williams openly embraces publicly financed campaigns, which would force taxpayers to foot the bill for her political campaigns.
This is an extremely unpopular idea in Montana, so much so that the Montana legislature attempted to ban public officials from using taxpayer resources to campaign. Unsurprisingly, Extreme Kathleen voted against that bill.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Kathleen also has a dismal record of putting her money where her mouth is on campaign finance reform.
While she claims that her refusal to accept corporate PAC money makes her “independent,” she is cashing in checks behind-the-scenes from out-of-state billionaires, corporate executives, DC lobbyists, and special interest groups.
That doesn’t sound very independent!
The bottom line: Extreme Kathleen’s support for the far-left policy of sticking taxpayers with the bill when politicians run for office makes it clear that her radical, self-serving agenda knows no bounds.
