MTGOP Statement on the passing of Governor Stan Stephens

HELENA, Mont. – With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the 20th Governor of Montana, Stan Stephens, has passed away at the age of 91.

MTGOP Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement in response:

“It’s a somber day for all Montanans as we mourn the loss and celebrate the life of one of the most devoted public servants that Montana has ever had,” said Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt. “I want to thank Governor Stephens for his life of service and all that he has done to make Montana a stronger, better place to live. Governor Stephens not only led an extraordinary life of service to the entire state of Montana, but he was also a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband to his wife, First Lady Ann Stephens. Governor Stephens will be dearly missed, but the incredibly influential, positive impact he made on the Treasure State will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.”
