HELENA, Mont. – Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt issued the following statement after the MTGOP received this violent voicemail threatening to shoot a door knocker.

“It is vile, disgusting and shameful that someone had the audacity to call our campaign headquarters threatening to shoot a Republican door knocker. There is no place for political violence in Montana, but it’s no surprise that violent threats against conservatives are on the rise after Democrats like Jon Tester, who called for violence against President Trump on national television, have made calls for violence against Republicans the new normal.”

Local law enforcement has been alerted of the voicemail as well as our staff and volunteers.

Voicemail Transcript:

“Stop leaving these ugly, trashy door hanger things on my door … [pause] …. I’m gonna shoot the next person that comes on my porch and leaves one of those on my doorknob.”

Background:

As reported by the Daily Caller, Jon Tester said President Trump should be punched in the face:

Montana Democratic Sen. Jon Tester said Thursday the best way for Democrats to beat President Trump in 2020 is to “go back and punch him in the face” in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“I don’t think, even in states where Donald Trump won big, that it did you any good running away from Donald Trump,” he said. “I think you need to go back and punch him in the face. The truth is this guy is bad for this country.”
