HELENA – The Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement regarding Senator Tester’s effort to distract Montanans from his record on the Keystone XL Pipeline:
“Senator Tester’s efforts to manipulate his record on the Keystone XL pipeline is exactly what we should expect from someone whose vote Chuck Schumer needs in order to move forward the liberal wish list that Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are attempting to force on Americans,” said Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt. “Senator Tester is using the COVID-19 relief debate to showboat his “supposed” support for the Keystone XL pipeline because it’s a political ploy that he knows will fall short of the 60 vote threshold.
Senator Tester introducing this amendment exactly one month after he cast the deciding vote to strip an amendment authorizing the Keystone XL pipeline is a slap in the face to Montana workers, Montana families, and the tens of thousands that lost their jobs due to President Biden’s extreme environmental agenda. Furthermore, choosing to use swampy DC tactics to showboat and make up for the fact that he single handily killed Montana jobs tells you exactly where Senator Tester stands nowadays: for himself and his Party bosses, not Montana.”
