HELENA, Mont. – Why is Ben Alke running for Montana Attorney General? It turns out, he doesn’t even know why. Alke gave two different Montana media outlets two completely different reasons for running for Attorney General-proving he actually has no idea why he is running for office.

The millionaire trial lawyer told Lee Newspapers he made the decision to run because of a recent meritless complaint filed against Attorney General Austin Knudsen. On July 25th of this year, Alke provided the Commissioner of Political Practices with the required paperwork for his statement of candidacy, despite the complaint not becoming public until early September.

Alke proceeded to tell another media organization that he had nothing to do with the complaint and no prior knowledge of it.

The fact that Alke submitted his CoPP documentation in July and the complaint was made public in September makes it clear Alke is not an honest broker. Alke is in this race to seek power and influence, not to serve the people of Montana.
