MTGOP Statement on Bullock’s Decision to Suspend Presidential Campaign

Montana Republican Party Chairman, Don “K” Kaltschmidt, released the following statement after Governor Steve Bullock announced he will suspend his campaign for President of the United States:

“Despite Governor Bullock’s support for universal background checks, gun bans, sanctuary cities, open borders, and calling for the impeachment of President Trump, Governor Bullock consistently polled at zero percent and never gained any substantial support in his quest for the Presidency. While Governor Bullock will no longer be spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on his campaign for President, Bullock’s march to the left on every major issue should long be remembered.”

Kathleen Williams: Silence for 64 Days and Counting

It has been 64 days since Speaker Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry into President Trump, and 26 days since the Democrats voted to formalize its witch-hunt despite bipartisan opposition.

The consequences of this action were seen in the last 14 days, where 12 witnesses consumed more than 30 hours of lawmakers’ time over the course of five public hearings.

It is clear the partisan appetite to overthrow the President on the Left is so high that just about every Democrat Presidential Candidate, including Governor Steve Bullock, is in support of impeachment. However, Montanans still do not know where Congressional Candidate Kathleen Williams stands on this issue.

With an expected hearing in the Judiciary Committee next week, Montanans deserve to know how candidates for Montana’s at-large Congressional seat would vote should he or she be Montana’s lone voice in the House of Representatives.

Fellow Democrat candidate Rep. Tom Winter (HD-96 ) immediately agreed with Speaker Pelosi on the need to impeach the President, yet 64 days later Williams continues to remain silent amidst this partisan effort.

Montanans need to know if Kathleen Williams would side with Nancy Pelosi and Radical Democrats, or whether she would oppose this charade and work to pass legislation like the USMCA Trade Agreement on behalf of Montana’s farmers and ranchers.

The Montana Republican Party believes this process has been a political stunt from the beginning, and Kathleen Williams’ 64 days of silence on this issue should not be ignored.

MTGOP Endorses Fiscal Sanity, Montana Values in Billings City Council Races

HELENA – The Montana Republican Party endorsed five candidates for City Council Races in Billings on Wednesday following special interest group attempts to elect radically liberal candidates. Chairman Don “K” Kaltschmidt released the following statement in support of candidates John Armstrong (Ward 1), Incumbent Roy Neese (Ward 2), Aldo Rowe (Ward 3), Pam Purinton (Ward 4), and Mike Boyette (Ward 5):

“With election day only days away and Democrat Socialists on the ballot it is important that we stand up for fiscal responsibility and strong advocates for Billings,” said Kaltschmidt. “That is why the MTGOP is announcing its support for candidates that will keep Billings safe, balance the city budget, and say no to higher taxes. John, Roy, Aldo, Pam and Mike will always work for their neighbors and stand up for Billings Values.”

The Montana Republican Party communicated endorsements with a call to voters from Chairman Don “K” and a significant independent expenditure in local media urging Billings residents to support balanced budgets and lower taxes.

MTGOP Chairman’s Statement on Democrats Secretive Impeachment Process

HELENA – Montana Republican Party Chairman Don “K” released the following statement after the RNC’s Executive Committee unanimously passed a resolution in support of President Trump and the Graham-McConnell resolution:

“With unanimous support, the RNC Executive Committee passed a resolution to support President Trump and the Graham-McConnell resolution that condemns House Democrats’ secretive, illegitimate impeachment inquiry. These shady closed-door impeachment proceedings deny our President the due process rendered to every American. While the House Democrats engage in the baseless impeachment witch hunt, Montana applauds President Trump and his unwavering dedication to deliver outstanding results to the American people.”

MTGOP Executive Director Rips Governor Bullock Following Spring Creek Closure

HELENA – Executive Director Spenser Merwin released the below statement regarding the Bullock Administration’s denial of a new permit to the Spring Creek Mine:

“Governor Bullock’s decision to deny a permit for Montana’s largest coal mine and jeopardize good paying jobs near the Crow Reservation is indefensible,” said Merwin. “The fact that this occurred on the same day the Governor is fundraising out of state should be of little surprise as he left Montana in the rearview long ago to run for President.”

The Spring Creek Mine, near Decker, Montana, is owned by Navajo Transitional Energy Company and employs nearly 300 people. The same day as the NTEC announced the shut down, Governor Bullock held a fundraiser in Little Rock, Arkansas.

MTGOP Slams Governor Bullock; Asks Him to Respect Montana Voters

HELENA – The Montana Republican Party called on Montana Governor Steve Bullock to retract his request for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump following an interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan on Thursday.

Governor Bullock, a Democratic Presidential candidate that has failed to breakthrough in any national polling and been relegated to only one Presidential Primary debate, called for the “removal of the President” and supports “impeachment proceedings.”

“Governor Bullock’s blatant disregard for Montanans was on full display today when he asked for the removal of a President that won Montana’s Presidential contest by 20 points, ” said Spenser Merwin, Executive Director. “Governor Bullock cannot in good conscience be selling himself as a reasonable voice that can appeal to rural and moderate voters while simultaneously calling for impeachment with the likes of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and AOC. The Governor should retract his statement and remember that the American people, not grandstanding politicians, determine who occupies the White House.”

Governor Steve Bullock continues to poll nationally around 0% in his bid for the Democratic Presidential Primary Nomination, has not met Democratic National Committee requirements to participate in all but one debate, and has pinned all his hopes on the Iowa Caucuses on February 3rd.

MTGOP Statement on Cooney’s Run for Governor

Chairman of the Montana Republican Party, Don “K,” released the following statement today after Lt. Governor Mike Cooney announced he will run for Governor in 2020:

Mike Cooney is the very definition of a bureaucrat and career politician, having been born in Washington D.C. and spending over 43 years of his life fighting for big government and even a sales tax in Montana. As we watch Gov. Bullock march further to the left by embracing universal background checks, gun bans, sanctuary cities and open borders, and job-killing policies that will shut down Colstrip, Mike Cooney faces the following choice: Will he follow in Bullock’s newfound liberal positions or run away from these far-left radical beliefs that threaten our liberties and Montana way of life.”

Tell Bullock: Stop Using Tax Dollars to Campaign for President!

Governor Bullock has blown over $300,000 of our hard-earned tax-dollars to pay for his campaign, fundraising, and electioneering activity.

That’s right – our tax dollars are being spent by Bullock in his campaign to be President.

Montana taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill to pay for Bullock’s security detail while he attends campaign events and fundraisers in Iowa, New Hampshire, and elsewhere. Don’t you agree?

Bullock’s security detail is there to provide protection for official state business – not campaign business.

If Bullock wants to ditch Montana, then Bullock is the one who should be paying the bill – not Montana taxpayers.

Join us and sign the petition to tell Governor Bullock that he should pay back Montanans for the over $300,000 he’s spent of our tax dollars to attend campaign events and raise money from lobbyists and special interest groups.

He’s not doing his job as Governor, and he’s sending us the bill to cover his campaign security costs.

It’s wrong. It’s illegal. And, Montanans deserve their money back.

By working together, we will grow conservative leadership across Montana from the local, state, and federal level, protect our Montana way of life, and defend liberty and freedom for all Montanans.”

The MIGHTY Steve Bullock: Cut from debate, polling at 0%, wasting our tax dollars

Bullock’s ego is so large that he has anointed himself the sole person in America who will not only be President Trump’s toughest challenger but the one who can defeat him in 2020.

We’re not exaggerating how high and mighty Bullock thinks of himself – just take a look at this headline…

San Fransico Chronicle headline

The only problem: Bullock’s registering 0% in the latest Iowa poll!

While 20 other candidates will have a seat at the debate, Bullock’s doing such a poor job running for president (no surprise there), he was dropped from participating in the first debate altogether.

Politico headline

This is more than a set-back for Bullock. The fact that he can’t even meet the minimum debate requirement – to register 1% in the polls – shows just how pathetic his run for president is going.

But, Bullock has become quite skilled in one area: Jet-setting across the country campaigning and raising gobs of money from lobbyists and special interests – all with Montana taxpayers footing the bill!

Earlier last week he flew off to California to mingle with the Hollywood elites. For the last several days he’s been back in Iowa – his third trip since announcing for president a few weeks ago – and it’s Montanans who are paying for his campaign security costs.

The bottom line: Bullock has no business running for president. It’s a fool’s errand. A pipe-dream. He’s so far out of his league it’s laughable – and yet he continues to waste hundreds of thousands of our hard-earned tax dollars to do so. We deserve better.
