Chairman Essmann Statement on Supreme Court Ruling Blocking Obama’s Job-Killing Energy Regulations

Helena, MT –  Chairman Jeff Essmann of the Montana Republican Party today released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to block implementation of President Obama and the EPA’s Costly Power Plan until the litigation is resolved in court:

“Attorney General Tim Fox achieved a critical victory today against President Obama’s War on Coal with the Supreme Court deciding to halt implementation of the Costly Power Plan until the legal battle is resolved. I thank Tim for taking the fight to Obama and the EPA and for defending the thousands of good-paying Montana jobs that will be lost if these job-killing energy regulations aren’t stopped dead in their tracks. I’m glad we have a leader like Tim on our side working to end this threat.”

“The Supreme Court’s stay stops Obama’s vast overreach and highlights the need for a Republican Governor who will not hesitate to fight for these Montana jobs– not find ways to comply with Obama’s job-killing energy regulations. We need a Republican Governor who will stand with Montana workers and their families– not with Obama and the EPA.”

Chairman Essmann Statement on AG Tim Fox’s Re-Election

Helena, Montana – Chairman Jeff Essmann of the Montana Republican Party issued the following statement today after Attorney General Tim Fox filed for re-election:

“I believe having a strong Republican leader in the Attorney General’s office has had a positive impact for Montana and the country and is essential in order to protect our economy. Montana needs Attorney General Tim Fox to keep fighting against the Obama administration’s vast overreach and protect us from the abuse of power we have seen from this lawless president. You can always count on Tim to defend our property, our guns, and our way of life, and to fight for hardworking Montanans.”

“Tim has stood up and defended Montanans from President Obama’s unconstitutional water power grab- threatening the rights of farmers, ranchers, and all property owners- successfully pushed back against Obama’s ammo ban, achieved a critical victory against Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty order, and is currently fighting President Obama and the EPA’s job-killing energy regulations that threaten to bring great devastation and harm to Montana workers, families, and communities.”

“We need Tim in the Attorney General’s office now more than ever to continue the fight against President Obama and all assaults from the progressive liberal agenda that threatens our Montana way of life.”

Victory Against Obama’s Amnesty Order

In what media outlets across the nation are describing as a major blow to President Obama and Democratic Party’s liberal agenda, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that Obama’s executive order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants was unconstitutional.

In ruling against Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty order, the Court used Obama’s own words against him. Last November, Obama admitted he unilaterally and unconstitutionally rewrote our nation’s laws to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants: “But what you are not paying attention to is the fact that I just took an action to change the law.

Obama was unable to explain away this statement and provided further proof to the Court that Obama knowingly disregarded our nation’s laws to take whatever action he deemed necessary to suit his liberal political agenda.

It’s because of the action taken by Attorney General Tim Fox that we have been so successful in fighting back against Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty order. AG Fox filed a lawsuit last year to hold Obama accountable for his unconstitutional overreach. AG Fox is leading the fight to rein in Obama’s abuse of power and complete disregard for the rule of law.

Senator Tester on the other hand has fought to protect Obama’s amnesty order. Senator Tester voted again, again, again, and again to protect Obama’s unconstitutional overreach. Tester continues to side with President Obama and the liberal Democratic Party– not with the 74% of Montanans who oppose Obama’s amnesty order.

It’s quite disturbing that President Obama, Senator Tester, and the liberal Democratic Party are more concerned about granting amnesty to illegal immigrants than fighting to create good-paying jobs to improve the lives of Montanans, especially when Montana ranks near the bottom of the nation– 49th– in salaries.

AG Fox Fights to Protect Coal Workers; Why Won’t Bullock?

Helena, MT – Chairman Jeff Essmann of the Montana Republican Party issued the following statement praising Attorney General Tim Fox for filing a lawsuit against the Obama-EPA job-killing energy regulations:

“I am deeply appreciative of Attorney General Tim Fox for filing this lawsuit to protect Montana coal workers and their families from President Obama and the EPA’s job-killing energy regulations. These devastating and harmful regulations will threaten to eliminate thousands of Montana jobs. Tim’s actions show he is willing to fight to protect our good-paying jobs.”

“It’s not clear from Governor Bullock’s statement that he unequivocally supports this lawsuit. If Bullock truly supported our coal workers and their families why won’t he fight to protect their livelihoods? Montanans need a Republican Governor– alongside our other Republican elected officials– to fight for these family wage jobs.”

MTGOP Commends AG Fox for Filing Lawsuit Against Obama-EPA Water Power Grab

Helena, MT – Attorney General Tim Fox and 12 other states today filed a lawsuit against the Obama-EPA Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule that grants the EPA authority to regulate all ponds, ditches, streams, and any body of water they declare subject to their oversight.

I commend Attorney General Tim Fox for standing up and fighting back against the Obama-EPA water power grab because this burdensome and overreaching regulation is a direct threat to Montanans’ way of life,” said Jeff Essmann, newly elected Chairman of the Montana Republican Party. The Montana Constitution says that all water in the state is ‘the property of the state for the use of its people,’ and this federal regulatory power grab violates the traditional and proper role of state supremacy in the control and regulation of our water– our most precious resource. Lastly, the Obama-EPA water power grab threatens Montanans’ access to water, their property rights, and jeopardizes the future of our agriculture and energy industries and the thousands of good-paying jobs they support.”
