Will Deschamps
Chairman
Will Deschamps, Montana Republican Party chairman, is a life long resident of Missoula, with family roots dating from 1868 in Frenchtown. He is married to Janice, his wife of 30 years, and they have three children and 5 grandchildren. Will, the eldest son of two Marine Corps officers who served during WWII, was raised on a ranch west of Missoula. After attending parochial and public school in Missoula, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served four years active duty in Viet Nam as well as other areas of the world. Upon discharge from active duty Will worked at Hughes Aircraft Company while attending college at California State College at Fullerton. Will graduated from The University Of Montana in 1978 with BS in Business Management.
As a small business owner for 35 years, Will became involved with many local organizations. He has been a member of the Southside Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Cub Scouts, Missoula Planning Board, Western Montana Fair, Larchmont Golf Course, Hellgate Elementary School Board, Montana Unified School Trust, Marine Corps League and Toys For Tots. He is or has been the chair or leader in each of these organizations.
On the political front, Will has been a Pachyderm member for many years, is currently the chair of the Missoula County Republican Central Committee, served on the Republican State Executive Board, and is a past chair of the Republican State Rules Committee. He has been a candidate for Missoula County Commissioner for the and House District 98 Legislative seat.
Will's interests range from family and flying to scuba diving and travel.
