AG Fox Fights to Protect Coal Workers; Why Won’t Bullock?

Helena, MT – Chairman Jeff Essmann of the Montana Republican Party issued the following statement praising Attorney General Tim Fox for filing a lawsuit against the Obama-EPA job-killing energy regulations:

“I am deeply appreciative of Attorney General Tim Fox for filing this lawsuit to protect Montana coal workers and their families from President Obama and the EPA’s job-killing energy regulations. These devastating and harmful regulations will threaten to eliminate thousands of Montana jobs. Tim’s actions show he is willing to fight to protect our good-paying jobs.”

“It’s not clear from Governor Bullock’s statement that he unequivocally supports this lawsuit. If Bullock truly supported our coal workers and their families why won’t he fight to protect their livelihoods? Montanans need a Republican Governor– alongside our other Republican elected officials– to fight for these family wage jobs.”

Chairman Essmann Statement on Stapleton Run for Secretary of State

Helena, MT – Chairman of the Montana Republican Party Jeff Essmann released the following statement today on Corey Stapleton’s decision to run for Montana Secretary of State:

We couldn’t be more excited to have Corey Stapleton announce his candidacy for Montana Secretary of State. Corey is a trusted conservative leader who has a record fighting to advance conservative policies and better the lives of hardworking Montana families.”

Corey is well known around the state for his extensive small business experience, exemplary military service, staunch defender of our hard-earned tax dollars, and a committed family man. There is no doubt in my mind that he is a strong Republican candidate and we are grateful he has decided to run for Secretary of State.”

Corey presents a strong contrast with Monica Lindeen, the announced Democrat candidate, a career politician who simply wishes to extend her long tenure as a bureaucrat in Helena. Lindeen has failed to keep her promises to reduce health insurance costs, supports and implemented Obamacare, and authorized premium increases that have harmed Montana families.”

Tester Backs Obama-Iran Deal Over Security of Our Nation

Helena, MT – The Montana Republican Party today released the following statement on Senator Tester’s decision to support the Obama-Iran deal which threatens the security of our nation:

“By backing this deal, Senator Tester continues to follow President Obama with blind party ideology, putting our national security at risk and giving Iran the ability to develop a nuclear weapon. It’s beyond comprehension that Tester would put Obama’s failed foreign policy agenda ahead of the safety and welfare of Montanans and all Americans.”

MTGOP Commends AG Fox for Filing Lawsuit Against Obama-EPA Water Power Grab

Helena, MT – Attorney General Tim Fox and 12 other states today filed a lawsuit against the Obama-EPA Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule that grants the EPA authority to regulate all ponds, ditches, streams, and any body of water they declare subject to their oversight.

I commend Attorney General Tim Fox for standing up and fighting back against the Obama-EPA water power grab because this burdensome and overreaching regulation is a direct threat to Montanans’ way of life,” said Jeff Essmann, newly elected Chairman of the Montana Republican Party. The Montana Constitution says that all water in the state is ‘the property of the state for the use of its people,’ and this federal regulatory power grab violates the traditional and proper role of state supremacy in the control and regulation of our water– our most precious resource. Lastly, the Obama-EPA water power grab threatens Montanans’ access to water, their property rights, and jeopardizes the future of our agriculture and energy industries and the thousands of good-paying jobs they support.”
